The Headstrong Project – New York, NY

Our veterans are one of our country’s most important and valuable assets and when The Headstrong Project needed funding to expand their services to Oregon, the JTMF Foundation partnered with them to make it a reality. The Headstrong Project is a non-profit mental health organization providing confidential, barrier-free, and stigma-free PTSD treatment to our veterans, service members, and family members connected to their care.

Veteran-founded in 2012, Headstrong is one of the nation’s leading mental health care providers for veterans. They have developed a first-of-its-kind, comprehensive treatment program addressing the psychological aftermath of trauma. Treatment is both collaborative and evidence based.

Headstrong commits to supporting those who bravely served their country, regardless of service era or discharge status, and battle daily with the impact of trauma. They provide the treatment, tools, and support needed to win that battle. Confidential. Barrier-free. Stigma-free.

On average, Headstrong treats 1,400 clients per month through 275 clinicians in 15 states and Washington, D.C. To expand their services to Oregon, they needed funding of $1.15 million over a three year period. The JTMF Foundation was thrilled to be able to offer this support which is expected to help more than 100 unique, unduplicated clients through 3,350 clinical sessions over the course of the three-year funding period. This expansion will have a significant positive impact in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest as a whole.

The JTMF Foundation recognizes the sacrifices and contributions of our veterans and is pleased to have partnered with The Headstrong Project to serve our veteran’s needs.
